Mark Herbert: Who is Good Morning Britain host Charlotte Hawkins' husband?

Charlotte Hawkins is an English TV host and journalist most famous for presenting the ITV breakfast show Good Morning Britain. Prior to her rise to fame on the show, Hawkins had tenures in ITV’s Meridian Tonight in 2003 and in Sky’s Sunrise in 2006. Since hosting Good Morning Britain, Hawkins has established herself as one of the most famous and regular fixtures on the morning screen. Despite her celebrity status, Hawkins' private life and marriage remain under the radar.

According to The Sun, ITV presenter Charlotte Hawkins is married to Mark Herbert. Regardless of his wife's strong presence, Herbert leads an intensely private life, choosing to support Hawkins' career in silence. There's apparently a dearth of information regarding his background or current job.

Hawkins and Herbert have been married for 14 years after walking down the aisle on August 23, 2008, at Chichester Cathedral, whose Minister was Charlotte’s uncle. According to Barrie Downie, their wedding ceremony was low-key and only attended by the couple's closest friends and family members, including fellow presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes. Prior to their wedding, they had already dated for five years.

Hawkins and Herbert share a six-year-old daughter named Ella Rose, and the family of three is living together in their luxe home in Surrey, which boasts a cozy living room and a spacious garden. In an interview with Hello!, the TV personality gave her fans a glimpse into the family's home, whose living room is decorated with cream walls with matching cushions and other ornamental objects while the garden contains stacked logs next to a birdhouse.

Hawkins and Herbert had seen their 'hard times'

In an interview with Express last year, Hawkins opened up about the struggles she and husband Mark Herbert went through prior to giving birth to their daughter. She said they were 'really worried' that they wouldn't be able to conceive. The couple even intended to go for IVF treatment when the Classic FM host found out she had been pregnant. Hawkins told Express:

'It was an amazing surprise. We both found out very early in the morning. It was 3 am before I was heading off to Good Morning Britain. I had an inkling and I thought I better do a test because I was going out that evening and I didn't want to drink just in case - the test came back positive!'

The star added:

'I woke Mark up and said, 'I've got this for you,' and I handed him the pregnancy test, and then I had to go! We couldn't believe it.'

During the chat with Express, Charlotte also mentioned how grateful she and Mark were for the arrival of their daughter, calling her 'a blessing'.

Hawkins is having a new companion on GMB

On Thursday's edition of Good Morning Britain, fans noticed that regular host Kate Garraway was absent from the show. According to Hello!, the English journalist had to leave the hot seat temporarily after her husband Derek Draper, who had spent the previous 13 months battling with Covid, was admitted back into the hospital. As a result of her departure, Charlotte Hawkins, who normally doesn't host on Thursdays and weekends, steps into the breach alongside co-host Ben Shepherd.

Talking about Garraway's absence, Hawkins explained:

'Derek is back in hospital in a very serious condition but the family knows he is in the best hands. Kate is doing everything she can for her husband. He comes first and so work will have to take a back seat this week.'

However, Charlotte and Ben's studio also welcomed a new face, revealed to be Marverine Cole, who is already a big name in the industry, having featured on This Morning, Classic FM, Radio 4, and Steph's Packed Lunch. As Marverine sat next to her and Ben behind the desk, Charlotte tweeted:

'Morning! Welcome to @TVMarv joining us in the @gmb studio for the first time today.'
