The disgraced former PM and his wife Carrie are reportedly interested in buying a 400-year-old luxury mansion on five acres in the Cotswolds.

Boris Johnson, the former UK Prime Minister, is well-known for his luxurious lifestyle, including his property portfolio. Johnson has a number of properties in his name, including a townhouse in Islington, London, and a sprawling country estate in Thame, Oxfordshire.

Boris Johnson's impressive property portfolio

One of the most significant properties in Johnson's portfolio is his former home in Islington. The three-story townhouse is located on a quiet street and features four bedrooms, two reception rooms, and a large kitchen. According to the Mirror, the property is estimated to be worth around £2.3 million and has been a part of Johnson's real estate portfolio since the 1990s.

In addition to his Islington property, Johnson also owns a sprawling estate in Thame, Oxfordshire. The estate, which is known as the Old Farmhouse, is situated on 12 acres of land and features a tennis court, swimming pool, and stables. The property is estimated to be worth around £3.75 million and has been a part of Johnson's real estate portfolio since 2005.

Johnson's property portfolio doesn't end there, as he also owns a house in Somerset, which he purchased in 2018. The property, which is located in the village of South Cadbury, features three bedrooms and is estimated to be worth around £300,000.

Johnson's most recent addition to his property portfolio is the nine-bedroom Cotswolds mansion that he and his wife, Carrie, recently viewed. The 400-year-old property, located in Oxfordshire, is set in nearly five acres of land and is estimated to be worth over £4 million.

According to the Mirror, the Georgian, Grade II-listed manor house in Oxfordshire is believed to be the couple’s latest prospect in their quest for their 'forever home'.

The nearly 400-year-old property, which is set in almost five acres of land, boasts a walled garden, a moat, and a tennis court, making it an ideal home for the Johnsons, who are known to be animal lovers and tennis enthusiasts. The Johnsons have three young children, Wilf, Romy and have just welcomed baby Frank to the clan, so the house’s spacious gardens would be an added bonus for their family.

The Johnsons' prospective new home is situated in the Wantage parliamentary constituency, near the Henley seat that Boris Johnson represented as an MP from 2001 to 2008, when he quit to become the Mayor of London.

Boris Johnson's making big money

According to the Mirror, the house is said to have attracted 'offers in excess of £4m' and is 'sold STC (subject to contract)'. Nonetheless, his earning power from speeches and his prominent position within the Conservative Party means that the couple’s potential new home’s £4m price tag would not be an issue.

The former Prime Minister has been earning millions from giving speeches worldwide, and his most recent fee of £2.5m for speeches he is yet to deliver highlights his financial clout, reports Metro. However, his spokesman declined to comment on whether the couple had bought the house.
