A new piece of information indicates toward a different reason for the Royal split.
The exit of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the Royal family in 2020 is an event that set forth countless speculations on what caused the rift between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal family, particularly on potential conflicts with Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton.
Thus far, Harry and Meghan have expressed their side of the story while the Royal family has remained diplomatic on the issue, but there may have been a moment when the Royal family disagreed with Harry and Meghan's actions as Royals.
Beginnings of a conflict
By this point, many people already know the contentions presented by Harry and Meghan, and it primarily focused on experiences the couple had with the media on the hyper-fixation on Meghan, at times through a discriminatory lens.
The couple officially started dating in 2016, and Insider reports that Kensington Palace was forced to release a statement confirming the relationship, and Prince Harry lambasted the media for the targeted harassment toward Meghan.
A year after the couple's official exit from the Royal family, Prince Harry divulged one of the big reasons for the exit in the infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey, noting that the couple received 'no support' from the Royal family on the issues with the media, reports CBS News.
A split between the brothers
People Magazine further reports that Prince William wasn't receptive to Prince Harry moving forward too fast with Meghan, cautioning him about the situation and additionally utilizing the help of Earl Spencer, the brother of Princess Diana's brother, to have him speak to harry about this topic.
Prince Harry was reportedly hurt by these efforts, which ultimately may have caused the distance between the brothers. News publications initially placed the point of the first conflict between Meghan and Princess Kate, but the rift may have been generated between Prince William and Harry prior to that.
A process of opening up
Recently, Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, got a possible release date through speculations from industry experts, placing the date on January 10, 2023. Ever since the memoir was announced, there have been a lot of speculations on how much information it would contain, particularly information that could be offensive to the Royal family, reports Express. Speaking about the memoir, Prince Harry said '[It's a] firsthand account of my life that's accurate and wholly truthful].'

There is a crucial decision that Prince Harry has to make in terms of releasing the memoir, and it is the specific process of acknowledging which parts would be damaging to the Royal family and if alterations need to be made, otherwise the possibility of mending bridges would entirely be extinguished.
An additional reason for the split
Aside from Prince William's contentions with the pace of Prince Harry and Meghan's relationship, another reason could be due to fundamental disagreements on Royal procedures. Speaking to the Royal Correspondent Richard Palmer, Express reports that Prince Harry and Meghan intended to commercialize their Royal Status, something that the Prince and Princess of Wales objected to.
This is further cited as a reason for both couples splitting from the Royal Foundation, with Prince Harry and Meghan setting out to establish their own foundation and Prince William remaining in the original foundation alongside Princess Kate. It was subsequently renamed The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
One of the primary reasons for disagreements came from the Prince and Princess of Wales objecting to the idea of commercializing the Royal status, which may compromise their standing within the Royal Foundation.
