Television can be a difficult medium to break into, and during a particularly difficult moment, Katie Price's insight greatly helped Rylan.

Rylan Clark is a television personality who has made a name for himself on numerous shows on British television. Born Ross Richard Clark, he grew up in Stepney, East London. His path to success was paved through his entry to X Factor in 2012, in which he proceeded to wow judges until he was eliminated at the live finals.

However, X Factor wasn't his first venture on reality TV, as he had an appearance a year before that would teach him quite a lot in establishing his television personality.

A valuable advice

According to The Sun, 2011 marked the year Rylan entered the Sky Living series Signed by Katie Price, a talent show hosted by Katie Price. He went on to secure second place behind Amy Willerton. From that point onward, Rylan maintained a strong friendship with Katie.

The Sun further reports that the name 'Rylan' was created during his early modeling stints when he was 16, and he utilized the same during the show in 2011. However, this was met with quite a lot of backlash and according to him, he ended up becoming 'public enemy number one.'

Rylan elaborated:

I only had myself to blame. I created him, I was the one who'd played along week in week out on national TV, trying to make something of myself.

In his new memoir Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future, he mentions that he turned to Katie for advice on how to manage the situation, and with the experience of being on television for over two decades, Katie had a short but effective response for Rylan.

Rylan said:

I rang her and she told me not to give a flying f*** and carry on being me. She said she'd created Jordan. I'd created me. Deal with it.

The Mirror reported on Rylan stating that he has dealt with a lot of individuals who have been nasty to him, but he succeeded because he has been nice to everyone. It may just be that Katie Price's advice shaped this mentality. The very next year, Rylan entered X Factor and the rest was history.

A host of successful endeavors

In 2013, Rylan entered Celebrity Big Brother and was involved in many moments from the show that was filled with sparks and embers between Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, reports The Sun. He then went on to win the show, which added to his list of successes.

His presence on the show was appreciated so much that he got the opportunity to present the companion spin-off series, Big Brother's Bit on the Side in 2013. From that point onward, his career has been on an upward trajectory.

He has since then hosted The Xtra Factor in 2016 and hosted his own show Up Late with Rylan in 2016 which did not entirely gain traction during the first series due to poor viewership, hence it was canceled. He has been a consistent supporting presenter on This Morning, and hosted numerous shows over the years, including the Strictly spin-off series Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two which is currently airing its 20th series.
