The longstanding rumours surrounding a feud between Victoria Beckham and her daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz-Beckham, seem to have been put to rest during the Beckham family's Christmas vacation in the Bahamas.
The tension, previously documented in the lead-up to Nicola's wedding to Brooklyn Beckham, had sparked various speculations, including a reported strain over the choice of Nicola's wedding dress. However, recent social media posts and a heartwarming video suggest a reconciliation between the two women.
Sweet video squashes fallout rumors
Victoria Beckham shared a delightful Instagram Story video capturing a carefree moment with Nicola Peltz-Beckham on the sandy beaches of the Bahamas. The clip features the two women happily dancing to music during sunset, dispelling any lingering rumors of discord.
Victoria, 49, and Nicola, 28, are seen boogieing together, with Victoria playfully grabbing Nicola's hands towards the end of the video. The heartwarming scene was also featured in an Instagram Reel, showcasing the entire Beckham family, including David, Brooklyn, Cruz, and Harper, enjoying various activities during their tropical getaway.
As per Page Six, the reported feud between Victoria and Nicola gained attention in the lead-up to Nicola's lavish 2022 wedding to Brooklyn Beckham. Sources close to the family revealed that the relationship between the two women was strained, with minimal communication during the wedding preparations. Notably, eyebrows were raised when Nicola chose a Valentino gown over a custom design by Victoria, sparking speculations of a rift. However, Nicola addressed the wedding dress rumors, explaining that Victoria's atelier couldn't fulfill the request, leading her to choose an alternative dress.
Nicola Peltz's previous statements
While rumors persisted, both Victoria and Nicola publicly denied any ongoing feud. In an interview with Variety, Nicola expressed her initial desire to wear a design by Victoria but clarified that logistical challenges led her to choose another dress.
She previously told Tatler:
'I was going to and I really wanted to [wear a design by Victoria], and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress.'
Similarly, Brooklyn dismissed the speculations, stating that the media often tries to create stories that aren't reflective of the actual relationships within the family.
'I’ve learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that. They’re always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good.'
