Hall of famer

Scott is a former professional footballer and current sports presenter for BBC Sport. She was born in London in 1984 and started playing football at a young age. Scott went on to have a successful career as a defender, representing several top-tier teams including Arsenal Ladies, Birmingham City Ladies, and Boston Breakers. In 2019, she was Inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame.

In 2017, Scott retired from professional football and began her career in broadcasting as a commentator and analyst for BBC Sport. She quickly gained recognition for her insightful analysis and engaging personality and was soon promoted to a presenter.

Today, Scott is one of the most well-known sports presenters in the UK, and continues to be a prominent figure in the world of football. She is also an active supporter of various charitable causes, including the Alex Scott Academy which aims to help young girls get involved in football.

Activism through commentary

Last year, she got into some trouble for a few reasons. Scott is known for being a strong proponent for LGBTQ+ rights, and she was criticized by many for choosing to attend the World Cup in Qatar, as it is a nation that is known to suppress and criminalize gay rights.

However, there was another camp that supported her decision on the basis of being a voice that speaks out against the perpetuation of these social issues. She was seen as an activist at the forefront representing marginalized people, and that is essentially what she did as she was seen to be wearing the rainbow armband during England's first match.

However, The Daily Mail reports that she was seen to be enjoying the World Cup from a private skybox and some felt that this was a u-turn on her criticisms that were implied toward the nation's laws against gay rights.

An insider noted:

It seemed to be quite the U-turn. One minute she’s criticizing them, the next she’s in their box enjoying all the luxuries that come with it.

A new look

Scott's 2023 started with a vacation in Barbados and she was seen to be relaxing after the hustle and bustle of presenting at the World Cup. Additionally, she has decided to completely change her look for the new year as well.

She took to her Instagram page to share photos of her new bobbed hairstyle, jokingly introducing herself as 'Bobbi.' In the image, she's wearing a bathrobe and it's likely that she's taking part in a photoshoot, reports HELLO! Magazine.
