Fans couldn't believe how young Gillian is
The EastEnders actress appeared on the very first episode of the famous opera in 1985. However, looking at Gillian makes people question whether does aging not exist. Fans noticed that she now even looks arguably younger than she did in the 90s.
According to the Mirror, Kathy Beale, played by Gillian Taylforth, was 73 years old on-screen, which fans were shocked to discover. No one can find any signs of time leaving on the actress’s face, despite the fact that she is already 67 years old in real life. It looks like she has barely aged a day throughout the 40-year period on the TV screen.
On EastEnders, she played the mother of Ian Beale, played by Adam Woodyatt, 54. Her character’s age became known during the discussion relating to Queen Elizabeth’s passing, reports MyLondon.
The Queen died peacefully last Thursday, aged 96, leading to sorrow and sadness surrounding the country. She is the longest-reigning monarch, with over 70 years on the throne, devoting her whole life to fulfilling her duties. Thousands of mourners have been lining up in the streets for hours to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II.
Kathy expressed her feelings about the national loss: 'It just feels so personal, you know, just devastating.'
Kathy also disclosed that she was only three years old when the Queen was crowned 70 years ago.
She shared:
'I was, what, three when she became Queen. I wish I could remember the Coronation but, well, I’ve got other people’s memories.'
The reunion of EastEnders was not the only noticeable thing to the viewers, as Kathy’s age also left the audience stunned.

Gillian previously talked about her secret to conserving her beauty and how to look even younger than the actor who plays her own son, Adam Woodyat.
The 67-year-old actress admitted that she looks this young because she had a lot of free time for herself. On the other hand, Adam, who is EastEnders' longest-serving actor, had to handle a heavy workload.
She shared on This Morning:
'Adam has been doing this show for 30 years whereas I've had lots of time off. That's probably why I look younger!'
Gillian also stayed honest with the audience as she revealed the cosmetic surgery she went on. Specifically, she had a £1500 non-surgical facelift which uses dissolvable thread to get rid of wrinkles.
