Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been busy with establishing themselves on an individual basis ever since they officially exited the Royal family in 2020. Alongside, the couple have clearly indicated that they intend to speak about their experience within the Royal family.
As such, the release date for one of their ventures through Netflix has been revealed, and it is not too far away.
Potentially impactful releases
After the release of the documentary, the much anticipated memoir of Prince Harry titled Spare will be released on 10 January. Ever since the announcement, there has been a consistent level of discussion focused around the contents of the memoir.
Tom Bower, a Royal biographer noted that the Prince's book is essentially a 'time bomb,' reports Page Six. It was previously reported that Prince Harry was set to rewrite certain parts of the book following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
This essentially prompts the question of what exactly is going to be removed, as there are many directions the Prince could take, particularly in terms of his feud with Prince William, reports Us Magazine.
Bower said:
I think that everybody knows that the Sussexes can’t amend the book in any way,” he opines. “Can they make it nastier? Because otherwise, we wouldn’t get sales.
He added:
And there’ll just be more material about how they were snubbed and all the rest of the invective against the royal family, so I think to that extent, the delay will add to the poison.
Although no one has received an advance copy of the book, it was reported that King Charles III 'felt betrayed' by Prince Harry and Meghan, especially as it was assumed that the monarch shared a warm relationship with Meghan, which was showcased as he walked her down the isle, reports Yahoo! Life.
Bower further spoke to The Mirror stating that King Charles will not hesitate to strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their titles if the contents of the memoir as well as the documentary are disrespectful to the Monarchy.
The documentary
Alongside the memoir, the documentary is also highly anticipated as it is a part of the couple's multi-million dollar Netflix deal, although not much is known in terms of the contents of the series, reports The Independent.
The name of the documentary has not been revealed yet, but the release date of the series was initially delayed to 2023 in order to facilitate the the release schedule of The Crown Season five.
From one side, Royal commentators are speculating that the series will be highly critical of the Royal family, while others believe that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle intend to soften their approach toward the Royal family.
The series is directed by Oscar award-winning filmmaker Liz Garbus, and it is set to release on Netflix on 8 December. Although it isn't entirely confirmed, The Independent is awaiting for a confirmation from Netflix on the release date.
