The couple went their separate ways in July after a series of cheating allegations, and Paddy has since been throwing himself into working to recover from the shock split.

Top Gear presenter Paddy McGuinness has been keeping himself busy around the clock after the bitter breakup with his 11-year wife, Christine McGuinness.

Paddy's new project in South Africa

According to the DailyStar, the 49-year-old host was recently seen boarding a flight back to the UK from South Africa after filming schedule for a new project. Before returning to the UK, Paddy spent his time chatting with fans at the airport, sharing about the new ‘exciting’ show he has been working on. The TV star has, apparently, left behind his sorrow and put on a smiley face while talking to his fans at OR Tambo International.

Posting on Instagram later, he revealed how wonderful the time he had on the other continent. The Telly star captioned:

‘Had an amazing few days in South Africa. Working on something really exciting but what a treat to see some wildlife out there.’

He shared a clip of two wild horses rolling around on a secluded beach, adding: 'Giraffes, Monkeys, Hippos and these couple of chancers living their best life.'

Besides, Paddy has taken up a new hobby during this downtime - playing tennis.

He said:

'We never played it at [school], always thought it was a sport for posh folk? I was wrong. So wish I’d have started sooner! Deffo going to get some lessons and a decent racket!'

It seems Paddy is making a great effort in overcoming the marriage failure by having a hectic timeline and experiencing new things. Hopefully, both Paddy and Christine could find their balance back and keep devoting themselves to their little children.

Paddy and Christine's rocky marriage

Paddy McGuinness, born on 14 August 1973, is a British actor, comedian, and television presenter. He rose to stardom by appearing in programs such as That Peter Kay Kay Thing, Phoenix Nights, and Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere.

The Top Gear host first met Christine through a mutual friend in 2007. They started dating in 2009 before he proposed to the beauty queen in their home on Christmas Eve two years later. The high-profile couple walked down the aisle at Thornton Manor in Cheshire under the witness of families and closest friends. They shared three children, one set of twins in 2013 and a daughter in the following 3 years. However, all three children were diagnosed with autism, therefore parenting them has been a huge challenge for the couple. The TV star once admitted feeling upset when their children faced difficulties in making new friends.

Although they were thought to have one of the best relationships in showbiz, they could not avoid ups and downs on the road. In 2018, Paddy was caught walking arms to arms with All Saints singer Nicole Appleton. The solid couple turned from lovey-dovey into being loggerheads with each other and ended up parting their ways.

Fortunately, the good news is they are still living under a roof for their children’s sake. They want their children to have love and support from both of them and not have to suffer due to their parents’ unharmonious terms. The decision was intended to stay a secret, however, as overwhelming rumors sparked about their family, the couple felt ‘left with no other option but to clarify’.

They added:

'This was not an easy decision to make but we're moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. We'll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.’
