Both David and Victoria Beckham took to social media to share sweet videos as their second oldest son Romeo marked his 20th birthday on Thursday.
Romeo, the second oldest child of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, just turned 20 years old on Thursday, September 1. To mark Romeo's special occasion, the former England international and his fashion designer wife posted a constellation of throwback snaps and videos on their social media.
Romeo's birthday celebrations
On Romeo's milestone birthday, his 47-year-old father, David, and 48-year-old mother, Victoria, shared a myriad of photos of their son when he was small on Instagram, saying that they 'couldn't be prouder of him.'
One of the pictures shows Victoria with long blonde hair and a dark tan, looking youthful as the delighted parents posed while enjoying dinner. He was seen sitting on his father's lap while pouting with his grumpy face as it is shown in the image.
Other old photos showed Romeo enjoying himself on vacation, sporting his football uniform, and sailing while wearing a life jacket.
Victoria also posted a more current image of herself and her kid smiling for a picture.
In her message, the former Spice Girls singer gushed:
‘Happy Birthday @romeobeckham! You have the kindest heart and the sweetest soul. We love you and are so so proud of the incredible young man you have become.’
She continued:
'You light up a room the moment you walk in, you're hardworking and talented, we couldn't be prouder of you Romeo. Happy Birthday! @davidbeckham.'
Fans quickly flocked to the comment section to express the striking resemblance between Romeo and his designer mother.
One person wrote: 'Awww you 2 look so much alike! Happy Happy Bday Romeo!'
While another said: 'The one who looks exactly like you .. HBD Romeo.'
In the meantime, David, who's just landed himself in hot water following a controversial Qatar Tourism promotional video, published a blog entry of his own and uploaded a video of Romeo shaving for the first time as a teenager. He captioned, tagging the other members of the Beckham family:
‘Always the little performer with the moves following his mum ( POSH SPICE ) BIRTHDAY BOY we love you x. Happy birthday to my big boy. Just so u know dad will always film these moments…No more a teen - we love you so much and are so proud of you @romeobeckham! @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven ❤️.'
Another clip posted on David's account shows a toddler aged Romeo rocking a suit as he sings along while his mother was performing with the Spice Girls in 2008.
Many of his buddies also sent birthday wishes for their friends on Instagram Stories, which he subsequently published.
Romeo's blossoming football career
Romeo appeared to be in excellent spirits as he entered the field for the football team Inter Miami at the DRV PNK Stadium last month. The young rising player led his squad to victory over New England, which is the reserve team of Inter Miami which his dad co-owns.
In the team's 4-2 victory against New England Revolution II, Romeo scored one assist - adding to his tenth so far this season. The impressive stats makes Romeo the leading assist provider of his club. His father David was also attending the match to support his athletic kid and his squad, sporting a pink Inter Miami baseball cap.
The birthday man received support from Victoria as well. She posted a picture of Romeo and his father in the stadium on her Instagram Story.
She wrote ‘I love you so much! Proud of you tonight @romeobeckham..’
A photograph of David standing for a shot with other admirers was also posted by her. She wrote: ‘Amazing @intermiamicf fans showing up to support!! Great game tonight @romeobeckham'.
Romeo uploaded a photo of himself holding the ball on his Instagram Story while wearing his light pink Beckham 37 shirt and matching shorts.
