The presenting duo is set to return to the Australian jungle for the new series of I'm A Celebrity, but they are also working on a brand new quiz show produced by ITV.

Ant and Dec are one of the UK's most iconic presenting duos, having dominated the world of British primetime entertainment for over 20 years. Recently, they announced their plan of showing up on a new quiz show after winning the NTA awards, reports the Mirror.

Ant and Dec's rise to superstardom

Ant and Dec first met when they were both just 13 years old and working on the CBBC adolescent drama series Byker Grove. The two met while portraying their characters PJ and Duncan, and they quickly grew close both on and off camera. Producer of the show Matthew Robinson recommended the duo remain together, and the rest is history.

The two obtained their first presenting position in 1994 on the two-season run of the Saturday morning children's program Gimme 5 on CITV. The Ant & Dec Show, which they hosted on CBBC the following year, earned the couple two BAFTAs.

During their glittering career, I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and Saturday Night Takeaway are the two most famous shows of the duo.

Ant and Dec's upcoming quiz show

At the present, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are reportedly working on a brand-new ITV quiz show after winning their 21st NTA award for best presenter.

A TV insider told The Sun:

‘Whether they’re in front of the camera or behind it, Ant and Dec are still viewed as a duo who have the Midas touch when it comes to making telly.'

However, it is likely that the duo will not be fronting the show, as the source claimed:

‘The only disappointment will be that they aren’t working on the basis that they’ll be the presenters.’

At the National Television Awards last week, the duo won for best presenter for the twenty-first time in a row.

According to the Mirror, I'm A Celeb defeated Saturday Night Takeaway, Taskmaster, and The Graham Norton Show to win the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award.

As McPartlin and Donnelly had just tested positive for Covid, Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, who won the 2021 edition, accepted the trophy on their behalf. Stephen Mulhern was chosen as their best presenter.

Miller praised the pair for 'making the show what it is' and the production team for their assistance in resuming filming after a storm that prevented it for a few days.

The news comes a few days after the couple made an appearance in a brand-new I'm A Celebrity promo for the forthcoming season.

As they get ready for the series premiere in November, the presenting team can be seen in the video clip jumping out of a helicopter and into the woods.

The reality program about famous people is moving back to its signature Australian jungle after filming the last two seasons at Gwrych Castle in North Wales because of Covid-19 travel limitations.

'Alpha November Tango and Delta Echo Ciabatta are coming in hot,' McPartlin enthusiastically said in the clip.

He reminds Donnelly of their ‘Ant and Dec Always Together' contract before he jumps from the helicopter, to which the host responds, 'I wish I'd never signed that thing!'

The Geordie duo has presented the program since its first launch in 2002, with the exception of the 2018 series when McPartlin, 46, was temporarily replaced by Holly Willoughby, who is now the host of This Morning.
