Michael Owen's wife Louise Bonsall made an appearance on last night's episode of ITV2's hit show Love Island, where she reunited with daughter Gemma Owen to discuss her time on the dating series and met her partner, Luca Bish.

According to Metro, Louise Bonsall - mother of Love Island contestant Gemma Owen, entered the ITV2 villa last night on Sunday, July 31 in the show's penultimate episode. The highly-awaited episode, called 'Meet the Parents', was the opportunity for Love Island contenders to receive special villa visits from their beloved parents and friends one night before the grand finale.

Michael Owen was absent from the show

Louise, who is a professional horse dresser, entered the show alongside Gemma's friend Sarah as Gemma's famous father - former Liverpool star Michael Owen was unable to make it despite viewers' expectations. Previously, the former footballer, who's a racehorse breeder, once revealed that he's massively 'proud of his daughter' but couldn't watch the dating show because of his packed schedule. Confessing to Sky Sports At The Races after watching his horse Box To Box run, Owen said:

‘My wife will do that duty. I’ll represent the horses and she’ll represent the daughter.’

Despite Michael's absence, Louise, who married Michael Owen in 2005, gave Gemma a heartwarming message from her father, saying that he was 'really proud of her'. The 41-year-old mum said: 'Honestly, he is really proud of you, really proud.'

Louise added how Gemma family was 'missing her': 'They are all loving watching you, they’re missing you like mad.'

Luca Bish's parents also dropped by

The emotional get-together saw not only Louise Bonsall land in Majorca but also the families of Dami Hope, Luca Bish - Gemma's partner throughout the show, and Indiyah Polack. During their conversation, Gemma's mum told her daughter: 'You've got on, haven't you? You just need to see what you get on like in the outside world. Just see how it goes.'

However, Louise did not mention Luca Bish's name, which raised some questions for fans. Prior to entering the show, Louise once expressed her concerns about Luca, who was heard gossiping about fellow contestant Tasha Gouri. Commenting on a video of Tasha Gouri and boyfriend Andrew Le Page this week, Louise wrote: 'I hope Tasha is ok. I feel it’s close to bullying now which is so sad to see.'

Meanwhile, Luca's dad Michael, who wore a pair of casual flip-flops to the villa, said: 'She (Gemma) puts you straight doesn’t she.'

Luca's mum Maria revealed her thoughts about Luca and Gemma's chemistry:

'First night I said they fancy each other, I knew it. I love the values and morals she has.'

Although they are fans' favorite, Gemma and Luca's Love Island journey has been full of rough patches. The 19-year-old daughter of Michael Owen initially hooked up with Welsh sportsman Liam Llewellyn, which seemed perfect given Gemma's sports background. Unfortunately, the fling ended soon as Gemma switched to Davide Sanclimenti. At the same time, 23-year-old Luca Bish was partnered with Welsh paramedic Paige Thorn, as written by The Sun.

With Davide's attention turned by Ekin-Su, however, Luca found a chance to approach Emma and began their screen romance. Their relationship, despite major ups and downs, has been going from strength to strength, with both Gemma and Luca remaining loyal to each other amid the irresistible temptations from the troublemakers of Casa Amor.
