Tony Adams and Katya Jones appeared on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday as they reflected on their heated on-air moment at the end of Strictly Come Dancing's live show.

Tony Adams is famously known as one of the greatest players and captains of the London club Arsenal. A couple of months ago, the football legend became the 11th celebrity to be confirmed for the Strictly Come Dancing 2022 line-up.

Pairing with pro-Katya Jones, Tony Adams had made it halfway through this year's series, and despite a slow start, the former Gunner has improved by leaps and bounds. However, viewers' attention has recently been focused on his apparent argument with Katya following a performance on Saturday.

Amid the tension, the former football player has responded to the reported 'heated row' he had with his partner Katya Jones in the last moments of Saturday's live broadcast.

What happened at the broadcast?

According to the Mirror, the football coach, 56, had a poor performance during his Salsa earlier in the evening and finished at the bottom, with Katya, 33, revealing she had scolded him at the end. When Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly were winding up the show, Tony was then spotted speaking animatedly with Katya, which led to allegations of a 'heated row' between the two.

When discussing the awkward situation with Katya on Wednesday's episode of Good Morning Britain, Tony admitted that she can be 'a little over critical.'

On the BBC dance competition, he said he just 'wants to have a good time' and that they are attempting to strike a balance between resolving mistakes and having fun. He then complimented Katya, calling her a 'genius' for coming up with their choreography each week, before his partner laughed off claims of a 'feud' by saying they 'don't like each other.'

When Susanna Reid and Ed Balls questioned Tony about the suspected argument, Tony joked: 'We constantly argue, don't we?'

To which Katya humorously replied:

'We just don't like each other at all, we don't get on!'

Tony praised his partner: 'We've had two months together now. She's been training me and the routines she's putting on are incredible.

The former footballer then said:

'And sometimes when I miss a step, sometimes she's a little bit critical and I just want to have a good time as well. So I think it's a balance between maybe letting me make a mistake and enjoying myself a little bit at times… I'm not an expert in this field.'

Tony continued by discussing the difficulties of competing on Strictly, revealing that the 'brutal' nature of constantly learning new movements caused him to 'cry' for the first month and leave him feeling 'physically, emotionally, and mentally in bits.'

Tony and Katya danced to Pitbull's ' I Know You Want Me on Saturday in an attempt to surpass their highest scores from the previous week.

Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be because the judges' reactions to the performance were divided, and they placed last on the leaderboard. They received just 21 points for their Salsa including a four from Craig Revel Horwood.
