Vernon Kay has revealed his bizarre demand for cleanliness, admitting that he cannot fall asleep without doing this four times a day.

In an interview with The Guardian, Vernon Kay gave the audience a glimpse at his life and bizarre habits, along with his views on pub lunches and NFL fantasy football.

Vernon Kay's unusual daily habit

The presenter, who is 48 years old and boasts a gleaming set of pearly white gnashers, admitted that he is 'obsessive' and pays attention to sanitation. He shares:

‘I clean my teeth four times a day. I’m obsessive.’

Unless he cannot go to sleep, the TV and radio host, 48, says the last thing he does before bed is brushing his teeth.

The dad of two, known for hosting All-Star Family Fortunes, explained when he has trouble falling asleep, ‘18 holes around my favorite golf course in my head, and I’m done’.

Vernon's other exciting habits

With his wife, Strictly Come Dancing anchor Tess Daly, and their two girls, the 2020 I'm A Celebrity participant spoke up to The Guardian about what a regular Sunday is like for him and his family.

He said once he is asleep, he enjoys a lie-in, but confessed he cannot sleep past 10 am as he begins his countdown to bed from midday.

He and Daly, who is 53 years old, enjoy going out for brunch or having a pub meal with friends before he continues his ‘crazy number of foolish hobbies’. Many of these include playing paintball or flying airplanes that are controlled by radio.

‘There isn't a square millimeter to spare’ in Daly's ‘a killer sandwich’ when she puts all the filling, the man commended.

Married since 2003, Kay and Daly have two children, Phoebe, 17, and Amber, 13. They walked down the aisle at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Horwich, Bolton. And he recently revealed that his daughters aren't hugely interested in their mum's work, saying they ‘don't care’.

Vernon recently spoke out that wife Tess will continue to dance until she is well into her eighties, just like late Strictly legend Bruce Forsyth who hosted the show with her until he was 86.

When asked if Tess will stick around as long as Bruce, he said: ‘Yes I think so,’ before praising her partnership with Claudia Winkleman who took over when the veteran TV host left in 2014.

Vernon's ridiculous mistake

Earlier this year, Vernon Kay gained attention when, during a live interview on BBC Radio 2, he mistook Jimmy Somerville for the late pedophile Jimmy Savile.

In March, when acting as a substitute for Zoe Ball on her breakfast program, he erroneously stated to Marc Almond, who is a singer-songwriter, that the latter duetted with Savile before apologizing and clarifying himself.

‘Awesome voice and very unique’, Kay remarked after reading a message from one of Almond's followers. ‘His music helped me get through some difficult times. I saw him at Pride and was probably the first person in Hyde Park to run down and wait for him at the front. Amazing.’

‘His duet with Jimmy Savile – Jimmy Somerville, apologies – just blew me away, absolutely awesome.’
