Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finally walked down the aisle on Saturday in Vegas, three months after the duo announced their engagement news.

Court documents from TMZ reveal that Lopez and Affleck have obtained a marriage license in Kent County, Nevada, filed on Saturday with their legal names - Benjamin Géza Affleck and Jennifer Lynn Lopez, on the paper.

Representatives for Lopez and Affleck haven't commented on the news, however.

Jennifer Lopez later shared the news with her fans

The couple's wedding was confirmed by Lopez herself on Sunday via a newsletter for fans with the heading 'We did it' . The 55-year-old actress took to her official website, On The Jlo, to share adorable snaps of her nuptials with the Batman v Superman actor. In the newsletter, Lopez wrote:

'We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.'

The On The Floor singer said that while she and Affleck arrived had to queue up to get their marriage license after arriving in Vegas on Saturday and thus barely made it to the wedding chapel in time before it closed up, it was 'the best night' of their lives. She wrote:

'We read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we'll wear for the rest of our lives. In the end, it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined.'
'They were right when they said, 'all you need is love'. We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to.'

Lopez then finished:

'Stick around long enough and maybe you'll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at 12:30 in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through with your kids and the one you'll spend forever with.'

TheThe Boy Next Door actress ended the newsletter with her new name: Jennifer Lynn Affleck.

On the same website, Lopez also posted a dump of photos and videos from her nuptials, giving fans a glimpse into her wedding ceremony.

The return of the Bennifer saga

Lopez and Affleck's wedding marks 20 years since the 'Bennifer' saga was born.

In 2001, the Hollywood couple met while on the filming set of Gigli. After breaking up with her then-husband Cris Judd in 2002, Lopez and Affleck began dating, with the latter starring in Lopez's MV for Jenny from the Block. Shortly after the video's premiere, Affleck popped the question to Lopez with a 6.1 carat pink diamond by Harry Winston, as reported by US Magazine.

Unfortunately, the couple never made it down the aisle and called times on their engagement in 2004, citing 'the excessive media attention' surrounding their wedding. They both went on to have separate relationships, marriages and even kids. While Affleck shared three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner during their marriage from 2005 to 2018, Lopez also had a high-profile romance with singer Marc Anthony, whom she shared fourteen-year-old twins daughters with.

While Lopez and Affleck remained on good terms with each other following their split, it then took another 17 years for the couple to rekindle their relationship. In April 2021, they were spotted together, sparking rumors that they were back together. The couple went public a few months later, and got engaged for the second time in April this year - nearly two decades after their original separation. Lopez told PEOPLE back in February:

'I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him. It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.'
