Prince William has barely spoken to Prince Harry because of this

Prince Harry and Prince William's relationship has been on the decline since Harry left the Royal Family in 2020 and had that infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey.

After Prince Harry left for the US in 2020, his relationship with other working royals has taken a turn for the worse. The Prince hardly shows up at major royal events, and only returned to the UK at the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee and most recently, Her Majesty's funeral.

William and Harry's ongoing tension

Among the royal relatives, Harry's own brother Prince William is claimed to be the most acrimonious toward him. This is quite straightforward, as Prince William's royal responsibility increased as well following Harry's infamous exit. Even on rare occasions that the brothers united, eagle-eyed fans could barely spot intimate moments between the two.

In recent months, the brother's relationship has even escalated, but this time it is induced by another reason.

Prince Harry's new book is the cause

According to Marie Claire, the Duke of Sussex's book, Spare, will be released on January 10, 2023.

New information from Penguin Random House gives some insight into what readers can expect from the bombshell memoir, with a description saying:

‘It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror.'

The description continues, mentioning how Princess Diana's death affected Prince Harry's life. It also calls Harry's memoir as 'a landmark publication full of insight and revelation':

'As Diana, Princess of Wales was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on. For Harry, this is that story at last. With its raw, unflinching honesty, Spare is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief’.

And according to The Sun, since the news of Harry's memoir broke out, Prince William 'has barely spoken' to his brother while the royal family is on 'tenterhooks' to read the book.

It's unknown how much time Harry will dedicate in Spare to his continuing tension with William, with whom he's had a strained relationship for some years.

A time bomb for the Royal Family

According to royal author Tom Bower, Prince Harry's upcoming autobiographical book has been dubbed a ‘time bomb’ for the Royal Family since it includes a lot of 'damaging material'. The former BBC reporter blasted Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, for ‘making a contract with the Devil’ by publishing the book and signing a deal with streaming behemoth Netflix.

Mr Bower, who authored Revenge on the couple's divorce from the royal family, said he expected the future series and book to criticize King Charles, William, Kate, and Camilla.

He stated on American Radio:

'I'm sure it contains a lot of very damaging material. The whole package is really now a time bomb for the Royal Family and filled with poison'.

Mr Bower, 76, also stated that Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, are afraid of losing their titles as Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but would not back down from their criticism of the royals.

This update comes as Harry prepares to market the book, which will reportedly include a visit to England in the New Year when he will be able to explain his ‘intent’ in writing it.
