Instead of relying on Donald Trump's wealth and reputation, Ivana carved out a successful career on her own, allowing her to live a lavish life and buy extravagant things, including her former mansion.

Who is Ivana Trump?

According to CNBC, Ivana was a former model and Olympic skier. Born on February 20, 1949, Ivana first lived in Canada before the 70s before relocating to America to pursue her career in modeling and fashion.

In the mid-70s at the height of her career, the blonde beauty met Donald Trump and went on to marry him in 1977, an event that became the subject of public interest. During their courtship, Ivana and Donald Trump shared three children: Donald Jr. (born 1977), Ivanka Marie (born 1981), and Eric (born 1984).

Unfortunately, the couple divorced in 1992 in what remains one of the most complicated divorce settlements in the US. The Trumps divorce proceedings received worldwide publicity after it came to light that the former president was cheating on Ivana with Marla Maples, who would later become his second wife.

After their amicable separation, Donald and Ivana continued to keep a friendly relationship and they had nothing but great things to say about each other, according to the Mirror.

Following her split from Donald Trump, Ivana went on to have two other marriages, none of which lasted for more than two years.

Ivana Trump's personal life

According to reports, Ivana was among Trump's greatest supporters during his first real estate ventures in the late 80s and 90s; and she contributed greatly to the establishment of his hotel company, Trump Organization.

She went on to take major roles in the company, serving as executive vice president for interior design for seven years. According to the New York Times, Ivana was the mastermind behind the trademark interior design of Trump Tower with its iconic pink marble.

Ivana's business venture wasn't just limited to her ex husband's property portfolio. A wise woman herself, Ivana single-handedly built her lines of clothing, fashion jewelry, and beauty products which all achieved commercial success and earned her massive wealth. Such lucrative earnings also allowed the former model to invest in several property projects, including a luxury mansion where she and her children lived.

According to the Mirror, Ivana bought her home for $2.5 million in 2002, just after her divorce from the former US President.

The six-story property is located in Manhattan, New York, and can be easily recognized with its signature gold leaf, crystal chandeliers, pink marble and animal-print wall coverings. Other celebs who live nearby include Mariah Carey, Rickey Martin, Samuel L. Jackson, Mia Farrow and Drew Barrymore.

The home boasts several dazzling features, such as soaring ceilings, gilded fireplaces, and fully-supplied Versailles-inspired dining room that look out onto the private courtyard. It also includes a media room, two offices, a basement sauna, and several other facilities.

It is revealed that the home once belonged to a dentist before becoming vacant for several years. After Ivana purchased the home, she spent millions on renovating it and made it among the most prized possessions of her real estate portfolio.

According to Top Ten Real Estates, Ivana's former home was where she brought up her three children, Ivanka, Donald Jr and Eric Trump.

Following her death, the luxury townhouse was put on sale for a whopping $26.5 million, nearly ten times as high as the original price she bought it for.
