Katie Price and Peter Andre's son Junior has shown that he has an air of a pop star like his celebrity father as the 17-year-old had the crowd go crazy with his debut performance on Tuesday night.
According to Metro, Junior Andre, the teenage son of TV personality Katie Price and singer Peter Andre has thrown his first ever gig as he performed his debut single Slide to a crowd of screaming fans. Junior, who just turned 17 a month ago, brought his song to the live audience as he joined several other stars on stage at Rainton Arena in Houghton le Spring, Sunderland on Tuesday night. The event was 'packed out' and full of under-18 youngsters, as reported by the outlet.
Peter Andre escorted Junior to the event
His father, All Night All Right singer Peter Andre cheered on his son from backstage and took to Instagram to share that he was proud of Junior's milestone performance. He posted a series of clips showing Junior burning the stage with his energetic moves. For the occasion, Junior was formally dressed in a black Palm Angels tracksuit with a white T-shirt and a pair of grey sneakers. In the background, the audience was singing along to Junior and used their phone torches as mini light beacons to illuminate the stage.
Alongside the video, Peter Andre captioned: 'So proud of you on your first ever gig son. Let’s go go go @officialjunior_andre So much more to come…..'
Junior responded to his dad's post by writing: 'Best night ever !!'
Prior to his debut performance, Junior already announced earlier this week that he would be partaking in two Shutdown events. He posted on Instagram:
'So gassed that the Slide (MENTIS Remix) is out now! I’m also going you be heading to Shutdown in Sunderland and Leeds THIS WEEK to party with you guys and perform some songs! Who will I be seeing there? It’s gonna be lit'
After finishing the Sunderland gig, Junior will be heading to Leeds on Friday for his second Shutdown performance. According to Chronicle Live, Shutdown is a brand that specializes in producing live events and festivals, claiming to be the 'biggest, most respected U18s brand in the UK from both artists and party-goers alike'.
Junior's debut release has been a success
According to Mirror, earlier in June this year, Junior decided to follow in his father's footsteps as he dropped his debut single - Slide. The newly-released song topped the iTunes chart a few hours later, selling more than Harry Styles and Lady Gaga, and has amassed over 600k views on Youtube. Junior is also working with famous music label Columbia Records after signing a contract last August, says Metro.
After his hit song topped the Itunes chart, Junior took to Instagram to share his burst of emotions by posting a video of him performing the song. He wrote in the caption:
'The love you guys have shown today has been crazy and you have got Slide in at Number 1 in the iTunes charts! Now we just need to keep it going. Thank you for supporting new artists like me. Without you, none of this would be possible.'
Since his debut in the music industry, Junior has been receiving massive support from his family. Earlier last month, Peter Andre Slide shared snapshots of the iTunes chart, with Junior's Slide on top with the caption: 'What a start. Wow son. Let’s get him to number 1! Thanks everyone that’s downloading this for him.'
Junior's smash success came 27 years after his famous father Peter stormed the chat with his hit Mysterious Girl. The song was released in 1995 and peaked at number one in New Zealand and reached number two in the UK. Mysterious Girl also remains one of the 145 songs in the UK to have sold more than 1 million copies.
Junior is Peter's eldest child, whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Price. The former couple also shares a 15-year-old daughter named Princess who Peter is equally proud of as she embarks on her own career path.
