Lady Louise Windsor, the Queen's youngest granddaughter, has taken on an increasingly important public role for the last two years.

Lady Louise Windsor, the 19-year-old eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, often maintains a low profile within the British royal family. The last time she made headlines was when she was admitted to the prestigious St Andrews university after having received her A Level results. For your information, it was also the place where Prince William fell in love with Kate Middleton, and the rest is history.

However, this time, an uncanny resemblance has brought her into the spotlight. Of course, there have been many cases of striking resemblances within the Royal Family, such as that of Lilibet and Queen Elizabeth II.

Royal resemblance dates back a century

The resemblance to Mary, Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood, the late Queen Elizabeth II's aunt, is uncanny, as depicted in a vintage photo from around 1917.

Lady Louise's remarkable likeness to Princess Mary, who was the daughter of King George V and accomplished numerous remarkable feats, is striking and has garnered attention among royal enthusiasts. The Princess Royal, ahead of her time, conceived the idea of sending Christmas gifts to all serving members of the armed forces during World War I, as per Hello! Magazine.

In addition, she became the first daughter of a monarch to undergo rigorous training at Great Ormond Street to become a pediatric nurse. Furthermore, in 1956, she earned the honorary title of General in the British Army for her invaluable contributions to servicemen, among other incredible achievements.

A prominent royal figure is emerging

Lady Louise Windsor was born on November 8, 2003, at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, England. As per Town and Country, her birth was unexpectedly premature, with her mother, then the Countess of Wessex, hurried to the hospital, while her father, Prince Edward, was away on an official visit to Mauritius.

Born weighing just 4 lbs. 9 oz., Lady Louise's early arrival was accompanied by complications. A placental abruption led to significant blood loss for both Sophie and Lady Louise, necessitating an emergency Caesarean section performed by the Royal Surgeon and Gynecologist, Marcus Setchell.

But Lady Louise isn't just known for her lineage; she is making her mark and showing signs of potential within the royal family. Currently in her second year at the University of St. Andrews, studying English just like Prince William and Princess Kate once did, Lady Louise is gradually stepping into the royal spotlight.

Despite being one of the younger grandchildren of Queen Elizabeth II, Lady Louise is gradually emerging as a capable member of the royal family. Her intriguing life story includes overcoming health challenges and embracing her passions, including carriage driving. She inherited Prince Philip's driving ponies and carriage and showcased her skills at the Platinum Jubilee Royal Windsor Horse Show.

As per The Mirror, Lady Louise faced challenges with her vision due to esotropia, a condition that causes the eyes to turn outward. Her struggle with this condition began in her early years, prompting her first eye procedure at only 18 months old in an attempt to rectify the issue. Unfortunately, the initial procedure did not yield the desired results, leading to a second eye surgery in 2014. Thankfully, these interventions were successful, and according to Hello! magazine, Lady Louise now enjoys perfect vision.

She also serves as a global ambassador for Vision 2020, a global initiative aimed at eliminating avoidable blindness.

A bright future for Lady Louise

The future is promising for Lady Louise, who has made occasional appearances at royal events. She played a significant role in the bridal parties of Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding and Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank. In 2022, she started appearing more frequently at royal events, marking the next phase in her journey.

While she retained her title, Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, despite her parents' elevation to the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Lady Louise's royal future remains open to possibilities. As the grandchild of a monarch, she was entitled to a Princess title, but her parents chose the style of children of an Earl, consistent with Prince Edward's title as the Earl of Wessex.
