One of the many perks of being a member of the Royal Family is being given a slew of fancy titles.

The Royal Family is known for its grand and illustrious titles, with Kate Middleton going by the title Princess of Wales, Prince William as Prince of Wales, and Prince Harry as Duke of Sussex. However, many of them have more than one title, some of which are lesser known. In this article, we will explore some of the lesser-known titles held by members of the Royal Family.

Prince William

As the eldest son of King Charles, Prince William inherited many titles from his father, including the Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Baron Renfrew, and Earl of Chester. As heir to the British throne, he is also Lord of the Isles and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland.

In addition to these titles, he also received titles from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, on his wedding day. These titles include the Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn, and Baron Carrickfergus, writes the Independent.

Kate Middleton

As the wife of Prince William, Kate Middleton has access to the female versions of most of her husband's titles. This means that she is also known as the Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of Rothesay, Countess of Carrick, Baroness Renfrew, and Countess of Chester.

On her wedding day, she was given the title of Duchess of Cambridge, Countess of Strathearn, and Baroness Carrickfergus.

Prince Harry

Like his older brother, Prince Harry has been a prince since birth. On his wedding day, he was granted the dukedom of Sussex. In addition, he was also granted the Scottish title of Earl of Dumbarton and the Northern Irish style of Baron Kilkeel.

Meghan Markle

Before marrying into the Royal Family, Meghan Markle had no titles. However, after her marriage to Prince Harry, she became the Duchess of Sussex. According to the Mirror, she also took the female versions of her husband's other titles, including the Scottish title Countess of Dumbarton as well as the Northern Irish style Baroness Kilkeel.

Princess Beatrice

As the granddaughter of the Queen, Princess Beatrice has been a princess since birth. Upon her birth Princess Beatrice was given the title of Princess of York, in reference to her father Prince Andrew’s title, the Duke of York.

However, on her wedding day to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, she inherited a unique title. Edo is an Italian count, which means that when he wed Beatrice, she became a countess. Their children will also hold the title of count or nobile donna.

Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex

Prince Edward, the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II, was given the title of Earl of Wessex on his wedding day. His wife, Sophie, is known as the Countess of Wessex. This title was created specifically for Prince Edward, as he had expressed a desire to have an earldom instead of a dukedom.
