If you get through the dance you stay over the lunch break and in the afternoon, you do the singing. I never got to the afternoon. I remember being in a group of 60 people and my name not being called out and then going home.'
After winning Strictly Come Dancing, Tom was offered a number of acting roles, and he soon became a regular on the British television scene. He has appeared in popular British TV shows such as Waterloo Road, Holby City, and Casualty. In 2014, he landed the role of Sam Strachan in the BBC medical drama Holby City.
Tom is also known for his role as Inspector Sullivan the popular BBC series Father Brown. He appeared in the show from 2013 to 2018 and received critical acclaim for his performance.
