The former England captain is all set to meet with the King to discuss an important role he will play. Here's what it is.

David and Victoria Beckham have always been the unofficial royals of the UK. The star couple are extremely close to the royal family and have even attended both Prince William and Prince Harry’s weddings. In fact, Beckham even stood 12 hours in line for the Queen’s funeral and was visibly upset by the Queen’s death, despite the Queen being secret friends with Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise and David Beckham had a bad fallout after being thick as thieves for many years.

But, things have changed now. And it is said that the Beckhams are allegedly feuding with Prince Harry and Meghan. And amidst all the fallout rumours, it is said that David Beckham is set for a meeting with none other than King Charles. Here’s what is happening.

The meeting

King Charles and the rest of the royal family seem to be on bad terms with Harry and Meghan. Just like the Beckhams. And in the wake of all this bad blood, it is allegedly reported that the former England captain has a meeting scheduled with King Charles. Beckham has accepted an invitation from the King himself for a serious talk about becoming an ambassador for the royal charity - Prince’s Foundation. It is vital to note that David Beckham has played a similar role in Prince Harry’s charity organisation called Invictus Games.

The meeting is said to be taking place very soon at Dumfries House, Scotland, wherein the King and the 48-year-old football legend will sit down for a heart-to-heart talk, about the way forward. As per a source, this is what the King wants to talk about.

“The King wants to suss out whether he and David can work together and explore potential projects and find out if they share any common ground,”

David’s (not so) secret dream

David Beckham is one who never stops dreaming. It’s been a long time since his career as a pro footballer ended, but that never stopped David from chasing his dreams. As per a source’s conversation with The Sun, the following was revealed about the iconic footballer.

“It’s an open secret that David wants a knighthood one day and many people have questioned why he isn’t a Sir after all he’s done — and linking up with the King rather than Harry would certainly help.”

Following the footsteps of his former Manchester United coach and mentor, Sir Alex Ferguson, David also wants to embrace the title of ‘Sir’, given all that he has contributed to England’s football scene. In fact, David was even awarded an OBE this year for his services to the sport.

David surely knows by now that the King is the person to go to, to be knighted, especially since his bad fallout with the Sussexes.

The fallout

David Beckham and Prince Harry were spotted together a lot at a time. But the duo unfortunately had a bad fallout. The reason for the fallout was speculated to be because the Beckhams were accused by the Sussexes of leaking stories about them to the press, as per Entertainment Daily.

This led to David Beckham getting ‘absolutely bloody furious’, especially given the fact that the Beckhams were extremely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s move to the United States.

Rumour has it that the friendship ended after a very tense phone call between the Beckhams and the Sussexes. And the relationship between the two families is said to be irrecoverably broken, with no scope for reconciliation in the near future. Thus, the once close relationship was fractured and severed within a span of a few months.
