The reality TV Star first began dating Rami Hawash in 2011 and announced her engagement to him last year.

Gemma Collins is a businesswoman and reality television star from England best known for her work on the program The Only Way Is Essex. She performed in several theatrical productions while attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School, honing her acting abilities.

Gemma used to work as a used-car salesperson before beginning a full-time job in the entertainment sector. She made her television debut in 2011 with the British reality TV program The Only Way Is Essex. Gemma gained a lot of industry exposure thanks to the accolade-winning reality program. She later gained fame for her participation on TV programs including Celebrity Big Brother, Splash!, Sugar-Free Farm, Celebs Go Dating, and Dancing On Ice. But she hasn't been able to build a lucrative acting career. She has made appearances in supporting parts on several TV programs throughout the years.

A look back at Gemma and Rami's romance

In 2011, Gemma, a rising star, started dating Rami Hawash, the owner of a mechanical repairs company in Romford, Essex. Their relationship was on and off for about three years before the couple decided to go their separate ways in 2014, which also put an end to their engagement a year before. According to Closer, the last straw of their romance was Rami saying 'bad things' to Gemma.

Back in 2013 during an episode of TOWIE Gemma told her BFF Bobby Norris:

'Rami said something really bad to me and I’ve had to break up with him. It’s the final straw.'

However, in 2020 the pair got back together before going Instagram official with him in 2021, as reported by the Sun.

Why did Gemma get back with Rami?

Seven years after their heartbreaking engagement ended, Gemma Collins revealed why she and Rami rekindled their relationship. In a brand-new podcast, the GC, who rose to popularity on The Only Way Is Essex, shares her personal stories with the audience.

She's once again married to Rami Hawash. After getting engaged the year before and splitting up in 2014, the couple later reconciled.

The ITV I'm A Celebrity star stated the following to Ayda Williams on the Postcards From The Edge podcast:

‘I feel like maybe I was tested because once I'd sort of learnt to love myself again because that saying: Once you love yourself, then someone else can love you. I'm not going to feel guilty about sadness.'

She said that Rami gradually appeared in her life again, helping her with little family stuff without 'one minute of anything romantic':

‘I did fall in love with myself again. I did get to know myself again. All these people that have like come and gone in my life, weren't there for the right reasons. And then my dad got ill, Rami reached out but did not think for one minute of anything romantic.'

The TOWIE star continued, saying she regretted not accepting his proposal ten years ago:

‘Then literally out of the blue, Rami came along. We used to go for like little walks and it was really good to pick my mum up shopping if I couldn't get there. I was just like oh, this is nice. Again still wasn't thinking, but I did start to think, damn, why didn't I accept his proposal ten years ago when I wanted that sort of life.'

Gemma, who has turned 41 years old, admitted that she has grown enough over the years to 'get to this point' of romance.

She wrote:

‘Then just out of nowhere, it all came back. When you say I've matured, you know, I have got better at my work and stuff like that. I think I just had to go through all this process to sort of get to this point. And now it's good as, you know.'

Is Gemma engaged to Rami?

This time, however, the couple has been keeping their romance under wraps. When rumors about their second engagement circulated early this year, Gemma herself has slammed them as nonsense. The star once revealed that she won't tie the knot 'until she's 50' because it's 'best not to think long term'.
