Congratulations are in order as Kate and Rio Ferdinand announce they are expecting their second baby six months after tragic miscarriage.
The former TV star has announced that she is expecting a baby with her husband, ex-footballer Rio Ferdinand, as she showed off her baby bump for the first time.
Who is Kate Ferdinand?
Born on June 3, 1991, in Essex, Kate Ferdinand rose to fame as a TV actress, with her most prominent role in the beloved British reality television series TOWIE. Prior to soaring to fame with the series, the 29-year-old worked as a Business Support Manager at a local bank, reports the Sun.
In 2015, Kate was selected for the cast of the ITV2 show, before making her on-screen debut during the Marbella special.
After more than two years, Kate left TOWIE in April 2017. Kate explained at the time that she wanted to stay away from the limelight to concentrate on her business pursuits and then-blossoming relationship with Rio Ferdinand.
When did Kate and Rio Ferdinand meet?
According to Heart, Kate Ferdinand and the former Manchester United defender met while on holiday in Dubai in 2017.
At the time, Rio was previously married to Rebecca Ellison, sharing three children with her. Unfortunately, Rebecca passed away in 2015 after a battle with breast cancer, making Rio Ferdinand a single dad. After falling in love with Rio in 2017, Kate decided to quit her TV career to be a full-time stepmom to Rio's children.
According to the Mirror, the happy couple walked down the aisle at the D Maris Bay hotel in Marmaris, Turkey, in September 2019.
Do Kate and Rio Ferdinand share any kids?
Kate, 31, and Rio, 44, are already parents to 2-year- son Cree and Rio's three children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11, from his marriage to late wife Rebecca.
Recently, they announced that the ex-TOWIE star is pregnant with their second child.
According to the Mirror, Kate Ferdinand took to Instagram to reveal the news, telling fans they'd been 'praying' for another child. Sharing the news with her 1.4 million followers on Instagram on Sunday morning, Kate posted a short video clip of her baby bump.
After posting the clip, Kate received much support from fans and her fellow celebrities.
'Huge congratulations darling,' wrote fellow former Towie star Billie Shepherd.
Vicky Pattison gushed: 'OMG babe! Congratulations'.
According to Metro, the good news comes after the TV star shared with fans that she suffered a miscarriage in July. Kate said she immediately 'burst into tears' upon hearing the bad result:
'We both tried to pretend it wasn't happening and it was fine. It was the longest walk ever to the hospital. I felt like I knew and someone was preparing me. I just had to look at the lady's face. It was awful, I just burst into tears.'
