Their plan to celebrate the big day at St James Palace was canceled previously as the UK battled with its first coronavirus lockdown.

Normally before the wedding, couples would spend their final night with their family and friends before seeing the other half at the altar the following day. However, in defiance of the rule, Prince Beatrice and Edo chose to spend the night together, as noted by the Dailymail. Almost all other royals, from Prince Harry to Prince William, have followed this unwritten rule prior to their wedding ceremonies.

Before walking down the aisle with Prince William in 2011, Kate Middleton spent the night with her mum and sister at the Goring Hotel in London - one of the Queen's favorites. As royals, the family of three was entitled to the most luxurious services at the hotel, including a royal suite with a spectacular view over the idyllic garden. In 2018, Meghan Markle and her mum Doria Ragland also spent her final night before marrying Prince Harry at Cliveden House Hotel, a luxury countryside hotel about nine miles north of Windsor Palace.

Princess Beatrice's wedding was unconventional in many ways

In another break from tradition, Prince Beatrice opted out of the conventional ring made from Welsh gold. According to Hello!, royal women, including Princess Margaret, Princess Anne, Princess Diana, Prince Charles, Duchess of Cornwall, and even the Queen, have always gone for golden wedding rings. Meanwhile, Prince Beatrice was happy with her platinum ring, designed by famed British jeweler Shaun Leane.

Another feature that makes Princess Beatrice's wedding different from all other royals' is her choice of clothes. While Kate and Meghan looked splendid in gorgeous gowns designed by Alexander McQueen or Givenchy, Princess Beatrice chose to go vintage, wearing a dress by Norman Hartnell that she borrowed from her grandmother, the Queen. What's more, Beatrice's diamond fringe tiara was also the exact tiara worn by Her Majesty on her wedding day in 1947.
