Holly Willoughby was left red-faced on This Morning after she ran into an unexpected incident caused by guest Ferne McCann's newborn baby.

In a recent appearance on ITV's This Morning, reality TV star Ferne McCann, known for her role on The Only Way is Essex, made headlines as she introduced her newborn daughter, Finty, to the world. However, what started as a heartwarming moment took an unexpected turn during the live interview with hosts Holly Willoughby and Craig Doyle.

Amusing moment between Holly and the baby

Ferne McCann appeared on ITV's This Morning with her daughter, baby Finty, during a conversation with Holly Willoughby. However, the newborn had an unexpected moment of excitement when she 'pooed' on Holly during the September 19 episode.

During the show, Ferne McCann, along with co-host Craig Doyle, joined Holly Willoughby on the sofa to discuss the new series of First Time Mum. Craig Doyle jokingly mentioned a 'major incident' on set before the interview.

Holly explained the humorous situation:

'I needed a cuddle, I jumped straight in, so me and Finty had a little cuddle, but she sat down and had a release. But I always think it is better out than in.'

She added, 'We all felt relieved.'

Ferne, trying to hide her embarrassment, said, 'Poo explosion! She got a bit of stage fright, bless her." Holly, being a mother herself, reassured Finty, saying, "We bonded in that moment, didn't we?'

Ferne expressed her concern for Holly's dress, but luckily, the floral outfit remained unharmed.

During her interview on This Morning, Ferne raised some eyebrows with her comments about giving birth, saying, 'I was just a vessel, and Finty birthed herself.'

One viewer raged: 'This is setting a completely unrealistic view of birth for women… not all women are able to 'breathe a baby out'

Another commented: 'And NO ONE normal looks like this with a newborn baby. She’s spent about 3 hours in makeup with a stylist and you know what, good for her, but don’t make the rest of the women struggling with a newborn feel like they need to live up to this, this isn’t real.'

Story behind the baby's unusual name

Ferne welcomed baby Finty on July 6 with her fiancé Lorri Haines. She is already a mother to daughter Sunday, whom she had with her ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins.

Regarding the choice of the name Finty for her newborn, Ferne said that she got help from Google. The ex-TOWIE star told OK!:

'I don't know where I got it from, but when I typed it in on Google, I saw Judi Dench's daughter's nickname is Finty. I've always loved it and never heard it anywhere else before. I just feel so connected to the name – she came out, and she was just Finty. I think she sounds like a character out of Bridgerton. Francis is my grandad's name – it's a nod to Grandad Frank.'

Lorri Haines, also known as Lozza, is a Dubai-based businessman born in 1992. According to The Mirror, he works in property and is the CEO of Shoorah Ltd, a well-being and mental health tech startup. Lorri began dating Ferne in 2021 and often appears on her reality show, First Time Mum. He regularly posts loved-up pictures of them together on his Instagram page @lozzahaines.

The couple got engaged in July 2022, with Ferne announcing the engagement on Instagram. They both have children from previous relationships, with Ferne being the mother of daughter Sunday, born in 2017.
