Meghan, who was once very active on social media, left Instagram in 2018 and never looked back. But, it is rumored that the Duchess of Sussex is all set to make a comeback to social media, after a 5-year long absence. This could mean a lot of things to Meghan, mainly a lot of revenue. Meghan Markle’s Instagram comeback
Fans of the former Suits actress are excited to see her back on social media. As per The Sun, it is rumored that Meghan is making a much-awaited comeback with a brand-new account handle. It is said that this comeback could mean a lot to Meghan in terms of revenue that she could potentially generate. It is reported that Meghan could even make up to $1 million per post. Yes, you read that right, if Meghan does reactivate her social media, her net worth is likely to skyrocket.
As per social media expert Eric Schiffer’s conversation with The Mail on Sunday, he described Meghan’s return to Instagram as ‘the next logical step’, he also said the following.
"You have celebrities like the Kardashians who can command US$1m (£790k) and up for a single post promoting a product. There is no reason Meghan couldn’t be earning those sorts of fees."
The mysterious account
A new account has popped up on Instagram under the coveted handle @meghan. The account has zero posts and follows no one, but has a follower count of over 100,000 followers. People are speculating that this belongs to Meghan Markle herself, given that some of Meghan’s close friends follow this account. As per Sydney Morning Herald, the profile picture features pink peonies, which is also allegedly Meghan’s favorite flower. So fans of Meghan are convinced that she is done with her long hiatus and social media detox, and is ready to take social media by storm soon. It’s only a matter of time, till she reveals it, if it is indeed her account.
Meghan’s reason for leaving Instagram
There is a ton of speculation as to why Meghan left the popular social media platform in the first place. People liked to think it was because of her then-new family, AKA the royal family. But, that isn’t the reason, it was far from it. Meghan put an end to these speculations and shot them down by saying that it was her own personal decision to get rid of her Instagram account. In an interview with Fortune, Meghan touched on this subject by saying the following.
'I’ve made a personal choice to not have any account, so I don’t know what’s out there, and in many ways that’s helpful for me, Something, algorithmically, is creating this obsession.'
