Piers Morgan's unsavoury tweet forces his son to drop truth bombs at his father. Here's what happened.

I’m a Celeb took the UK audience by storm, given how gripping the latest season was. When we say that all of England was glued to their telly sets, we aren’t kidding, because the show has garnered a lot of attention and reactions from its fans.

Most recently, Piers Morgan took to social media and shared a rather bitter comment targeting certain contestants from the show. And needless to say, the netizens haven’t taken these unwarranted comments very well. Here’s what happened.

I’m a Celeb 2023

I’m a Celeb saw a diverse set of contestants this season, including Nigel Farage who was said to be its highest-paid contestant. Ultimately Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson won the show, despite battling health conditions.

This unexpected victory garnered a lot of mixed reactions from the fans of the show, which included Piers Morgan. Piers, who is known for being a tad on a snarky side took to X and posted a rather bitter post about the turn of events. Here’s what he said.

Piers Morgan’s comment

Piers Morgan doesn’t shy away from making his stance known about anything and everything. Sometimes it works out for him, like when Queen Camilla was grateful for Piers’s candid take on Meghan. But more often than not, these comments bite him in the behind. Piers took to X and penned down the following words.

“Congrats to Nigel Farage on losing a public vote for the 7th time, this time to an irritating reality TV halfwit in the lowest-rated series of I’m A Celebrity. And for ending up engulfed with snakes, an appropriate final humiliation for the biggest snake in Britain.”

This comment did not sit well with X users. And it clearly did not sit well with Morgan’s own family members, given that it was deemed spiteful and ungracious. Piers Morgan’s son took things into his own hands, and penned down a public apology towards Sam, despite the comment attacking both Sam and Nigel. Here’s what happened.

Piers Morgan’s son reacts

Spencer Morgan, who is Piers Morgan’s oldest son, was quick to react to this unsavoury post by his father. He replied to his father’s post by issuing a public apology, but exclusively for Sam. The post said the following.

“Sam is a really nice and very switched on guy. Would like to apologise on his dad’s behalf for this misinformed tweet.”

Sam, who was crowned the ‘king of the jungle’ most recently allegedly had an incredible time during the course of the show. As per Metro UK, he said the following about his time in the great outdoors.

"It’s the most surreal thing I’ve ever done in my life. And I ‘blacked out’ when Ant and Dec first walked into camp.”

Piers Morgan reacts to the post

Despite blurting out spiteful comments, Piers tried his hand at undoing his post, by further saying a few words. The television personality acknowledged his son’s post by saying the following.

“UPDATE: My eldest son @spencermorgan93 knows @SamThompsonUK well and says he’s definitely not a halfwit and is a really genuine down-to-earth guy who speaks highly of me. Apologies, Sam, I clearly misjudged you.”

X (formerly known as Twitter) users had a field day after Piers put out this bitter post. They took this opportunity to call out Piers, and the Tweet even had comments such as the following.

“He was earning £1.5 million and watching his popularity rise while you were in bed crying with a cold.”
“I’m no fan of Farage but that’s the most bitter and childish post I’ve read on here.”
