After nearly one year away, the veteran host has returned to This Morning, where she will be hosting alongside 'TV son' Rylan Clark for one week only.

According to The Sun, Ruth Langsford made her big comeback to This Morning when she hosted the Morning installment of the ITV daytime show alongside former X Factor star Rylan Clark. The duo, however, will be fronting the show for just one week following main hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby's summer break.

Lansford and her 'TV son'

In the past, Langsford and Clark developed a close-knitted friendship, with Rylan calling the 62-year-old host 'mother' while Lansford referred to Clark as her 'TV son', as noted by Hello!.

Langsford's appearance on This Morning's Monday edition marked the first time the 62-year-old TV star took the hosting role of the show after her last in October 2021. Alongside her husband Eamonn Holmes, Lansford used to front the show every Friday before being replaced by Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond at the beginning of 2021.

Holmes later slammed the broadcaster for its decision to ax him from This Morning, claiming ITV didn't explain to him why he had to stop anchoring the show. The Sky News Sunrise star, who left ITV after 15 years for his new role at GB News, said:

'No one explained anything to me. I'm all for TV companies being able to choose who works for them, but it would be nice if you were told why you were going.'

Following her husband's untimely departure, Langsford continued her stint at ITV as a regular panelist on the favorite Loose Women.
