The royal couple have made a touchdown at Dusseldorf in Germany for the much-awaited Invictus Games. And so begins a busy week for the couple as the Invictus Games go on till the end of the week.

But fans of the Duke and Duchess could not help but notice the fact that the couple traveled separately. Thus, giving room for some speculation. Amidst divorce rumors, Meghan was quick to shut down these allegations about their marriage. Here’s what happened and here’s what Meghan said.

The separate arrivals

As reported previously, Meghan and Harry flew to Dusseldorf separately, with Meghan joining Harry two days into his trip to Germany. Meghan, who arrived on the 12th of September gave her husband a two-day headstart as he got to Germany over the weekend.

As per Marie Claire, Meghan was spotted at an In-N-Out drive-thru in Montecito, where the couple live, in a black Range Rover, along with a friend. She soon headed to LAX to board her flight to Dusseldorf, via London. No, she did not make a pitstop in London to visit her husband’s family. Meghan did reveal the reason for their separate arrivals, and this is what it is.

The reason for the separate travels

As the couple made a joint appearance at the Invictus Games (which is founded by Prince Harry), Meghan revealed the reason for her delay in travel. It involved their children Archie and Lilibet, who didn’t join their Germany trip, and instead stayed behind in LA. She said the following, as per The Mirror.

"Hi everybody, it is so special to be here and I'm sorry that I was a little late to the party. Just like so many of you, we know this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created and the Fisher House has created.”
"I had to spend a little more time getting our little ones settled at home and get them to drop off.”
"Three milkshakes and a school drop off and I just landed a couple of hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event I can do for Invictus is here with all of you. It is amazing and I hear it has got off to a good start so far."

More about the Invictus Games

The Invictus Games is a multi-sport event for wounded and injured servicemen and women. Prince Harry has been the face behind this initiative, given that he is the founder of Invictus Games. Launched in 2014, the initiative is a big global success. Meghan spoke about the Invictus Games, by saying the following.

"So a huge thank you for this amazing event that Fisher House has put on. I was really fortunate to go and visit one of the houses in Los Angeles just a couple of weeks ago and I was so moved by everything that they do because they understand, as you do, as my husband does in creating the Invictus Games, how much the value of rehabilitation matters, not just as a solitary experience, but as a family.”

The royal couple were beaming with pride as they took part in the Invictus Games events. From meeting the mascots to joining a sing-along and vibing and dancing to Sweet Caroline, the Sussexes were having the time of their lives in the event. The couple were in a great mood, setting the tone for a good 39th birthday for Prince Harry, which is on the 15th of September. And they even had time for a romantic getaway afterwards.
