Prince William and Kate Middleton have 'no plans' to see Harry and Meghan in US trip

The tension between the royal brothers has not cooled down as the Prince of Wales has no apparent plan to visit Prince Harry during his upcoming US trip.

Prince William and Kate Middleton will arrive in Boston on Wednesday for a tour to the United States that will conclude with the second annual Earthshot Prize honors, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be 200 miles away in New York for an awards ceremony, reports the Independent.

Despite both couples visiting the US east coast in the same week, the Prince and Princess of Wales apparently have ‘no plans’ to join up with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Why won't William meet his brother?

According to the publication, William and Kate are scheduled to arrive in Boston on Wednesday for a three-day tour that will end on Friday with the prince's ‘Super Bowl’ moment - the staging of the awards he launched, aiming at finding and developing environmental solutions to heal the world.

Meanwhile, next Tuesday, Harry and Meghan will be only 200 miles away in New York City to receive an award at the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Awards.

The estranged couple was last seen together at the late Queen's death and her funeral in September.

Despite their close proximity next week, the Daily Mail reports that the brothers and their spouses will not plan to meet up, a result of conflicting schedule. It means that there will be no Royal reunion in the US, and inevitably no talk between the brothers, who have long been stuck in an acrimonious relationship. Despite the tension Prince William does remain protective of his younger brother.

In the meantime, the Telegraph reports that William and Kate's entourage is ‘highly cognizant’ of Meghan and Harry and is ‘not scared of their shadows on this.’

Inside Prince William's Earthshot Prize awards

It follows the announcement earlier today that singer Billie Eilish would headline a fantastic lineup for William's Earthshot Prize awards presentation on Friday. She will be performing at the MGM Music Hall in Boston alongside Annie Lennox, Ellie Goulding, and Beyonce proteges Chloe x Halle, reports Entertainment Online.

An insider source revealed:

‘The prize has become the prince’s Superbowl moment of the year, and he looks forward to continuing to use the platform each year to shine a light on some of the most impactful projects doing amazing things around the world to save our planet’s future.’

The Earthshot Prize is now in its second year, and William discussed it with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on his state visit to the UK earlier this week.

Sir David Attenborough, a long-time supporter of the Earthshot Prize, will deliver the show's opening narration. At the same time, Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, an Earthshot judging panel member, will narrate a relook at the 2021 winners.

The award will be presented by actor Rami Malek, who played singer Freddie Mercury in the documentary Bohemian Rhapsody, as well as actress Catherine O'Hara, featuring in the film Home Alone, and environmental activist and actress Shailene Woodley.

Which US destinations will the Prince of Wales visit?

According to the Mirror, William and Kate will attend a special event with Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and the Prince will visit the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum with Caroline Kennedy, the former president's daughter.
