Tom Bower is known to be a passionate critic of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and frequently expresses his displeasure with the Sussexes. The 76-year-old caused a stir on Good Morning Britain on Monday with his most recent remarks.

For avid watchers of the Royal Family, the name Tom Bower is no stranger. A British writer and former BBC journalist, the 76-year-old are notorious for his unauthorized tell-all biographies about famous people, such as Boris Johnson and even the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes.

Tom Bowers took a jab at Meghan

Most recently, during an episode of Good Morning Britain hosted by presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, the royal biographer launched his latest attack on Meghan Markle, claiming she ‘dictated this agenda’.

Tom alleged that the Sussexes were using their royal titles to enrich themselves and ‘damage’ the Royal Family.

Ed Balls, the host of Good Morning Britain, pushed him while he was being questioned about his beliefs by pointing out that Prince Harry is the one releasing the book after Tom placed the blame on Meghan. The discussion prompted more conflict on the ITV program, according to the Mirror.

Bower first mentioned Meghan and the late Queen's relationship, saying: 'I don't mind Harry' and claimed the late Queen 'didn't like [Meghan], she saw right through her.'

During the talk, Tom criticized the former working royals and demanded that they be stripped of their official titles prior to the release of Harry's memoir, Spare. The investigative journalist claimed:

‘They wanted to leave Britain because, 'Hey, we can't cope with the invasions to our privacy. It's Meghan Markle. This book is really Meghan.’

‘Oh,’ Susann Reid commented in a sarcastic manner.

Ed replied: ‘Oh right, I see, I thought it was about Harry!’

‘Meghan is the person who has implicated this agenda,’ Tom continued.

‘The book's by Harry!’ Ed showed a completely opposite view. ‘It's not even by Meghan.’

Despite Ed's attempt to ease the conversation, Tom continued to claim the memoir is 'ghostwritten':

‘He's ghostwritten it,’ Tom claimed out of the hosts surprised. Susanna suspected that theory, asking: ‘Oh, we know that, do we?’

‘He's going to read it for the audiobook,’ Ed supported.

Public reaction to Tom Bower's criticism

However, the same crowd who was criticizing Meghan Markle for her Archetype podcasts was by her side this time. Following his GMB conversation, Tom Bower has faced a massive backlash from the Internet users.

One person tweeted, calling the 76-year-old a 'bloody hypocrite'.

Bower's biography on the Sussexes

Bower, 76, has written more than twenty unauthorized biographies which revolve around high-profile figures comprising businessmen, politicians, and members of the Royal Family, according to the Express.

Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War between the Windsors, which was another publication of Brown, sparked controversy when one of the people Bower interviewed for the book openly described the way he had interacted with Meghan.

According to a Revenge extract that was published in The Times, Sam Kashner, a journalist for Vanity Fair, felt 'manipulated' and 'played' by Meghan during the interview.

Having read this extract in The Times, Kashner nevertheless responded by writing a letter to the editor to explain the truth, saying how he 'admired Meghan's intelligence and courage':

‘Tom Bower didn't convey my admiration and respect for Meghan Markle in the excerpt from his new book [...] I found Ms. Markle to be exceptionally warm and gracious and admired her intelligence and remarkable courage, as I still do.’
