William and Kate date differently

A usual day in the life of the Prince and Princess involves royal engagements and public events. After this, they try to spend some quality time with their three children - Louis, Charlotte, and George. But escaping their usual grind, the royals managed to sneak out for an unusual date and appeared to be very interested in it.

The royal couple took part in one of their secret dates last Friday, and it really was something out of the ordinary. As per MailOnline, the love birds headed out for an evening at the salerooms of auctioneers Dreweatts, in Berkshire. Featuring an opulent collection, the event belonged to the late Robert Kime, who was close to the royal family. In fact, Kime played a pivotal role in designing and decorating both the Clarence House and the Highgrove House. The event wasn’t too far from home for the royals, given that various members of the royal family were either directly or indirectly involved.

The royal affair

To say that the royal family had a strong hold in this event would be an understatement. One of the pieces in the collection belongs to Lady Chatto, who is the second cousin of Prince William and Harry. As per Hello! Magazine, the event saw the sale of Mr. Kime's personal selection from his homes in London and Provence, with one of Lady Sarah's oil paintings included amongst the 750 lots. Lady Sarah is the Queen’s niece and the daughter of Princess Margaret and Anthony Armstrong-Jones. She is world famous for her work.

The three-day auction received a lot of buzz online and offline. A source told Daily Mail the following about the event.

"Everyone was all of a twitter to see them. It was the beginning of the very big champagne reception that auctioneers always have before a serious date.

The secret date

While on this date, the royal couple managed to stay low-key and under the radar. Not far from their Windsor home, the couple managed a sweet escapade from the routine, without turning too many (media) heads. While looking at and browsing through antiques may not sound like an ideal date for many people, Prince William and Kate Middleton seemed extremely happy in each other’s company.

Kate Middleton’s love for art

Kate Middleton is someone who appreciates the finer things in life, especially when it comes to art. And she seems to love to peruse art in secret. As per Woman and Home, Kate Middleton loves to visit museums on her own, early in the morning, to avoid the public and just be incognito while doing what she loves. This comes as no surprise, given that the Princess of Wales did study History of Art at St. Andrews University. Her rich background in the subject really adds value to these secret dates that the couple loves to indulge in.
