Prince William and King Charles say no to this one thing while they attend public engagements. You will never guess what it is.

Every now and then, fans of Prince William hear some tiny snippets of information about the young royal, which makes him more relatable. From going on secret date nights with Kate without the kids, to a secret affinity for clubbing and surfing, there is so much to the Prince than the public knows.

While King Charles seems very different from his sons, there are some unique habits that the father-son duo have in common, and it has something to do with their food. Here’s a secret eating habit that King Charles and Prince William have in common.

The common factor

It was recently revealed that Prince George prefers classic Italian carbonara pasta over British food. While we don’t know exactly what food items the royals have in common; they do share a very common trait when it comes to how they consume their meals. This is particularly accurate in the days when they have royal engagements to attend to. With countless public events to attend every year, the father-son duo follows this principle when it comes to lunchtime. And it is the fact that they both always say no to lunch.

Saying no to lunch

Prince William doesn’t ever shy away from sampling treats or local delicacies, but he isn’t one to eat a full-blown meal while attending public engagements. Clearly, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, in this case. This is the same manner that King Charles also does his engagements, as he is famous for skipping lunch, even during a normal day.

In 2018, to commemorate King Charles’s 70th birthday, a list of 70 facts about the King was released by Clarence House. The 20th fact on this list said the following, as per Hello! Magazine.

"The Prince does not eat lunch."

King Charles’s former press secretary, Julian Payne, spoke to The Mirror about this famous habit and said.

"The King doesn't eat lunch; so, an early lesson I learned when out on the road with him was to have a big breakfast or bring a few snack bars with you to keep you going.”
"The working day is pretty relentless. Beginning with the radio news headlines and a breakfast of seasonal fruit salad and seeds with tea."

Prince William’s food habits

It is well known that Prince William and Kate Middleton prefer meals cooked at home by themselves as opposed to anything fancy. The couple often opt for simple yet hearty meals on a day-to-day basis. On a recent visit to Cornwall, Prince William opened up about his eating habits to Monique Hyland, who is a practicing nutritionist. He said that he often starts his day with a wholesome breakfast containing two eggs, wholemeal toast with butter, apple juice, and a cup of tea with a dash of milk and sugar. The Prince of Wales is also a big lover of tea and loves the hit of caffeine during the course of the day.

The Sweet tooth

Hyland spoke to Cornwall Live and revealed the following, as per Cosmopolitan.

"He was a little bit nervous to begin with when I asked him what he ate yesterday. He was okay to start with as he had a healthy breakfast, but then he admitted someone had got him a 'rubbish sandwich' for lunch, and he had a chocolate brownie and a glass of red wine. He made the point of all things in moderation."

But, it is a known fact that the Prince of Wales has a major sweet tooth. And baking is something that the Wales household does, as a family activity. So, he does indulge in some sweet delicacies during his royal visits, if it's tempting.
