Inside Boy George's luxury home

The musician recently appeared on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and will no doubt be relieved to have returned to the luxury of his Hampstead home after sleeping among snakes and loads of jungle vegetation on the TV show.

During his time in the jungle, Boy George surprised his campmates with a rendition of his most famous 1980s song, Karma Chameleon - something he can do now that he has a dedicated entertainment room with a DJ set up.

For nearly 40 years, the singer has lived alone in the house, reports the Mirror. He bought it in the mid-1980s, shortly after releasing his big single Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?.

Boy George's house is located in a quarter-acre plot overlooking attractive Hampstead Heath and is part of a Grade II listed property built in 1868. It is a semi-detached house, and Sam Smith, another high-profile celebrity, moved in next door in 2015.

According to the Sun, it underwent a three-year restoration that began with the singer fighting Camden Council for planning permission to extend the residence and let in more light until a settlement was achieved.

The house has been extensively refurbished and includes a central staircase in a triple-height central hall. The staircase leads to the main bedroom suite, which overlooks Hampstead Heath and features a bathroom with a giant skylight as the ceiling.

There is also off-street parking for numerous vehicles and a beautiful garden at both the front and back of the house. The region is well served by public transportation, including Hampstead Underground station on the Northern Line and Hampstead Heath Overground.

The six-bedroom mansion is being sold for £17 million through Aston Chase estate brokers. In the previous 12 months, the average price of a property sold in Hampstead has been £1,806,748. It compares to £327,693 for the country as a whole, according to the property website Zoopla.
