Eamonn Holmes might have crossed the line with the Phillip Schofield scandal, here's what he has been doing.

Taking the British media by storm recently is the Phillip Schofield scandal that blew up all over the country. Phillip Schofield has been facing a lot of flak from his contemporaries about his resignation as an anchor and his admission of being in a relationship with a much younger colleague, thus raising some serious questions about workplace ethics.

Among the media personalities that have led the forefront of shaming Phillip Schofield is none other than Eamonn Holmes. Eamonn Holmes has been one of the most vocal critics of the scandal and has been taking any and every opportunity to call out ITV, and of course, Schofield for what took place. But, many people believe that he took it too far with his criticism, and most definitely crossed a line. Here’s the complete story on Eamonn Holmes, and his cross-fire against Schofield and ITV.

Eamonn Holmes’ prosecution against Schofield

Eamonn Holmes hosts a popular breakfast show on GB News, which he hosts alongside Isabel Webster. And the content of this show has been neck-deep in admonishments against the ITV bosses, who he claims protected Schofield through and through.

He went on to call Phillip 'toxic' in many instances and has been conducting his show at Phillip’s expense ever since the scandal came out. He completely crossed the line, when he allegedly asked people to come out and get in touch with him, if they have ‘kissed Phillip Schofield’. As per Daily Star, he said the following:

“I put it to anyone watching today that if you have kissed Phillip Schofield let us know. Let us see if that figure of one grows to the figure that I believe it is probably at.”
“He’s admitted he is a liar. You should see the emails, the texts, and the messages I’ve been sent over the past week. I think he’s getting off very, very lucky. Like everybody else he lied to me, I was happy to stand by him until I found out that he was lying... This isn’t about him being gay, not in the slightest.”

Reactions from the public about Holmes’ statements

Needless to say, these personal and unprofessional attacks on Schofield haven’t sat well with the audiences. And they seem quite irked at the way Eamonn Holmes chooses to address this nationwide scandal.

For context, Eamonn’s breakfast show recently got nominated for the National Reality TV Awards. And under one of the Instagram posts that convey his nominations, Eamonn is facing a lot of backlash from the viewers. As per Daily Star, this is the exchange that took place between Eamonn and his viewers.

Eamonn wrote: "Let's face it, it doesn't get more real than us. Your support for Isabel and me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance."
A user wrote: "You’ve got to be joking, I rather vote for Phil than you, you are a bully!!"
Another said: "If as he says he's so good then why is he begging for votes! Ealmon you've gone down hugely in my esteem, especially about your attacks on a fellow presenter."

Philip’s and Eamonn’s relationship

While it might seem that the feud between the two presenters started recently, it is rumored to be far from the truth.

As per The Mirror, a source said that the relationship between Eamonn and Phillip has always been a tricky one. They allegedly are two very different characters, with Eamonn being more social with everyone on the set, while Phillip barely knew anyone. Despite their professional paths frequently crossing, the two of them seemed cordial on the outside. But inside, there is allegedly a lot of bitterness.
