Addressing rumours about Phillip Schofield's long-awaited return to the telly, Vanessa Feltz breaks her silence.
Phillip Schofield’s ‘toxic’ scandal took the UK audience by storm earlier this year. An ‘unwise but not illegal’ decision of getting involved with a junior colleague from Phillip’s side, led to his untimely exit from This Morning, which he hosted.
Despite being deemed a monster by certain people, Schofield looks like he is trying to get his life back. Nonetheless, he is getting slammed left, right, and center over his different moves.
Most recently, there were rumours making rounds that Schofield is making his big television come back on ‘I’m a Celeb’, after laying low for months. Here’s what is being speculated.
The alleged return of Schofield
Since June 2023, fans of the talk show host have barely got a glimpse of him in public. Phillip, who has been laying low ever since his infamous scandal blew up, is rumored to be ready to hit the screens again. And this time, people are speculating that he is going to join the cast of ‘I’m a Celebrity’. With the I’m a Celeb 2023 line-up garnering a ton of media attention, fans are sure that Schofield is going to be involved with the iconic show.
Phillip Schofield’s long-time pal Vanessa Feltz broke her silence on this speculation, and this is what she said.
Vanessa Feltz addresses the rumours
In conversation with OK!, This Morning’s Vanessa Feltz spoke up about the rumours making their rounds regarding her pal Phillip. When asked about the rumors of Phillip’s return to television, she said.
“I don’t know anything about it at all. I would be absolutely flabbergasted if that were true.”
There is also speculation floating around that former politician Nigel Farage is linked to the show. And Vanessa has added that Nigel is much more likely to head into the jungle rather than Phillip. She said the following.
“Philip Schofield, I would say put your money on him going nowhere near the place.”
The other rumour
I’m a Celeb isn’t the only show that Phillip is being linked with at the moment. There were also a lot of rumours about the controversial talk show host appearing on Celeb Big Brother when the show made a comeback.
As per Entertainment Daily, Vanessa shot down these rumors as well, when she said the following.
“I wouldn’t put any money on that either. I think absolutely not to both of those.”
Phillip’s new replacement
After Phillip Schofield stepped down from This Morning, the ITV bosses were in a bit of a pickle. His sudden exit from the show left a gaping hole, and the show took on another format. The new format involved having talk show hosts on a rotational basis. With big names such as Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, Dermot O’Leary, Craig Doyle, and Rochelle Humes taking turns and headlining the show, they tried their best to make up for Phillip Schofield’s absence.
But news has it that Phillip’s spot has finally been filled by Martin Lewis, the money-saving expert. While there seems to be no official confirmation about this, it is said that Martin Lewis is all set to take on the role of the new host of This Morning. As per OLBG, Martin Lewis is going to be the next permanent host of This Morning. They currently have the 51-year-old at 20/1 for the role.
Martin who is an experienced talk show host has a lot of fans given that he had his own show. With experience hosting Good Morning Britain, he might be a good fit to fill the gaping hole that Schofield left behind.
