From marrying at 23, and being involved with so many new women till the age of 57, Boris Johnson's love life is the definition of complicated.

It is not uncommon for a celebrity or public figure to have a complicated love life or family life. With the very public job comes a ton of baggage and scrutiny which is often reflected in the personal life of the person in question. And today, famous people often have a complicated love life, and the world has come to terms with this.

Much like many known figures, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson followed a similar trajectory, leading to what is described as a ‘turbulent’ love life. Here’s a peek at his past, from his wives, to his lovers, and the many children he has fathered.

Boris Johnson’s ex-wives

Last year, Boris Johnson announced his resignation from the role of Prime Minister, and in his speech, it was noted that he thanked his family. But, family means a whole lot different to Johnson, than most of the rest of the world.

While Johnson has been privy to a lot of lovers and girlfriends, he has also married some of the women he was involved with. His first marriage was at age 23 when he married his girlfriend Allegra Mostyn-Owen, who he met in Oxford. The marriage did not last, as Johnson and the socialite that was Allegra, soon broke up. And the reason for this was his alleged affair with who would go on to be his second wife - Marina Wheeler. Marina and Boris were childhood friends, and Marina got pregnant before his split from Allegra. Marina went on to have four children with Boris - Lara, Milo, Cassia, and Theodore.

The affair with Petronella

Despite being married to Marina for well over 25 years, Boris Johnson had a slew of very public affairs. And the most public one was 7 years into his marriage, with journalist Petronella Wyatt in the year 2004. After rumours of an abortion, Boris came out and said the following as per The Mirror:

“I had not had an affair with Petronella. It is complete balderdash. It is an inverted pyramid of piffle.”

But like many of Boris’s other relationships, this one soon ended, when he allegedly failed to leave his wife for Petronella.

The era of affairs

The 2000s saw Boris Johnson very publicly linked to several women. From an alleged affair with prominent journalist Anna Fazackerley, which Marina was altered about, to more scandalous news, Boris made headlines. Soon, Marina threw Johnson out of their house but later smoothened things out and the couple reunited.

But 2009 saw a whole other scene when Boris had a love child with Helen Macintyre, who is an art consultant. This led to Boris again being kicked out of their family home, and Boris’s paternity was far from a secret when the court ruled him the father.

Boris’s love life post-2015

Jennifer Arcuri revealed in an interview with the Sunday Mirror, about her alleged four-year-long affair with Boris Johnson. Boris, who was the Mayor at the time, allegedly met the businesswoman once a week and exchanged sexual messages as well. As per Irish Mirror, she said:

“I’m not a victim. I’m not losing sleep over this any more. But it says a lot about the character of the man.”

Marina threw him out of their home for good this time. And soon after, he got engaged to Carrie in 2020, and the couple were expecting their first baby together. While it is unclear as to when they met, it is a fact that Carrie worked on his re-election campaign bid way back in 2012. The couple made history as the first unmarried couple to officially live together in Downing Street, as per Irish Mirror. And they seem very much together, as of now.
