Fans have been eagerly waiting for the grand comeback of the Spice Girls, whose five members last performed as the original line-up more than a decade ago.

In the late 1990s, the world witnessed the rise of a musical sensation that would forever leave its mark on pop culture - the Spice Girls. Comprising five talented and vibrant young women, the group took the music industry by storm with their catchy songs, infectious energy, and distinct personalities. The Spice Girls quickly became a global phenomenon, captivating audiences with their chart-topping hits such as Wannabe, Too Much, Viva Forever, and many more.

A regrettable disbandment

Despite their unprecedented success, the Spice Girls announced their decision to disband in 2000, leaving fans heartbroken. Following the split, each member embarked on their solo careers, with varying degrees of success. Victoria Beckham transitioned into the fashion industry, establishing herself as a renowned fashion designer.

Since their disbandment, fans worldwide have eagerly awaited a Spice Girls reunion, hoping to relive the magic and nostalgia of their iconic performances. The group has had sporadic reunions over the years, including a tour in 2007 and a memorable performance at the London Olympics in 2012. However, Victoria Beckham's absence from the 2019 tour left fans yearning for a complete reunion of all five members.

In an interview with Vogue Germany at the time, the fashion designer explained:

'It took me a lot of courage not to go on tour with the Spice Girls again, but to be the one who says: 'You know, I'm not doing it because things feel different now than they used to.' I'd rather concentrate on my family and my company.'

Hints of a Spice Girls reunion

Exciting news has surfaced for Spice Girls fans worldwide, as recent hints and statements from Mel B (Scary Spice) suggest that a reunion of all five original members may be on the horizon. This potential reconciliation includes Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), who was absent from the group's 2019 tour.

According to Sky News, Mel B's involvement in the second season Queen Of The Universe - a talent show that sees drag queens from across the world singing live, provided the perfect platform for her to address the Spice Girls' future. Speaking to Sky News about the show, she teased some big news to come from the Spice World, hinting at a reunion of all five original members. She stated:

'We are going to be doing some stuff, all five of us pretty soon, which is going to be announced. I like giving a little bit of a dig to my girls - 'I'm going to replace ya' - not that I ever would or I ever could anyway.'

The 48-year-old entertainer shared that an announcement should be coming soon and the Spice Girls are 'finishing off perfecting' their return:

'My theory is that if I say it enough, it will happen. But actually we are planning on releasing a statement. What that is, I can't say right now because we're just finishing off perfecting what we're going to be doing together, all five of us. But it's going to be something that the fans are really going to love.'

Victoria Beckham's potential return

While the Spice Girls have recently reunited, Victoria Beckham has not been part of those reunions. In the interview, Mel B clarified that all the band members are still in contact and maintain a friendly relationship. She previously told Hello! that Victoria's absence has been largely due to her busy schedule as a fashion designer and business owner:

'It’s not like none of us are speaking together, we’ve all got a group WhatsApp, but it’s just about timing. She was really busy doing her fashion line and supporting David with his moves and his career and obviously she’s got a bunch of kids so it’s just about finding the right time. We’ve managed to do that so there should be an announcement pretty soon.'
