Victoria Beckham's company still managed to make a whopping profit from the Spice Girls reunion, even though she didn't have to sing a single note.

In the 90s, Victoria Beckham, also known as Posh Spice, reached international stardom as a member of the five-piece music group Spice Girls. Its huge success has brought Victoria both wealth and reputation, and she continues to earn huge profits even though the band is no longer operating.

Who are the Spice Girls?

The Spice Girls, a British music pop group, was founded in 1994 by five members: Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice).

According to US Magazine, these five ladies, who had backgrounds in dance and acting, initially responded to a newspaper advertisement for a 'manufactured' band. They were consequently chosen from the many women who auditioned and picked up the moniker Spice Girls.

Despite slow initial development due to a lack of proper management, the Spice Girls still managed to release their debut single, Wannabe, in July 1996. The song immediately became a hit and soared to the top of the British singles chart and 30 other countries, catapulting the girls to international sensation.

Following their hugely successful debut, the Spice Girls went on to drop a constellation of hits such as Spice Up Your Life, Who Do Think You Are, Stop, and Viva Forever. Their popularity skyrocketed as they represented a totally unique spirit at the time: a feminist alternative to the boy bands dominating the 90s. Since their launching, the Spice Girls have sold more than 100 million records since 1994 to make them the best-selling girl group of all time.

However, by the end of the 20th century, the group's popularity began to wander as Halliwell withdrew from the girls in 1998. Other members began to pursue solo careers, ending the Spice Girls' era in December 2020.

Where are the Spice Girls now?

While each of the Spice Girls managed to carve out a successful solo career, it is widely regarded that Victoria Beckham is the most accomplished. Often considered the least noticeable piece of the band, Posh Spice's fame soared after she married football legend David Beckham in 1998. Nowadays, Victoria is still the richest and most famous member of the Spice Girls, according to Entertainment Online.

Many fans have longed for a reunion of the Spice Girls, but the chance remains open to question. The last time all five of the women gathered was back in August 2012 when they performed a medley of their greatest hits at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

In 2019, the Spice Girls, minus Victoria, gathered for their Spice World Tour in Dublin. Posh Spice was absent due to her dedication to her fashion business at the time.
